you aren't gonna be able to leave your car without paying downtown. they're called parking garages...find one :)

Most importantly, do not *ever* refer to, call, label or reference this city as"San Fran"ever again.

I know it's touristy cliche, but I lived there for two years and enjoyed walking GG Bridge and wandering around China Town/Northbeach area. Also, good views of the city from Twin Peaks if the fog isn't around. Lands End has a good hike around cliffs with views of the bridge and the Marin Headlands. Marin headlands are beautiful too, and there's a cool lighthouse that's open at weird hours.
Got some photos posted at http://www.nikdaum.com/news/cate…

If you go to Napa I would recomend doing Russian River too. There are some great wineries there and you can go tubing down the river with a bottle wine. It's so nice.
The vegan donuts at Ritual are awesome. I get one every morning.

Bumping this 14 year old thread for recommendations, we are doing family vacation in couple months, 4 days in San Fran then driving down coast to stop at few places and then loop back, so double loaded question
A) suggestions on any cool stuff to do in SF while we’re there
B) we’re going to stop for 3 days on way back, think narrowed down to either Santa barbera or Santa Cruz, But curious if one is clearly better than other?
Bearing in mind with kids so not going to be clubbing or experiencing much nightlife (signs you’re getting old thread)
