video to flash ready

so I usually I just import video to flash to create flv. Should I be using compression software to keep things high quality?

you will get better results with sorenson or episode pro.

No, import your raw clips into the FLV Encoder, and compress there.
Use a combo of keyframe placement (ie: 5-6) and bitrate (800-1000), and you should end-up w/ fairly decent video quality.
One day video compression will not be required, as bandwidth will be so high that we can stream huge amounts of data in seconds...

i used to use sorensen... then i started using the flv encoder (import into flash)... much better results (in my opinion) than sorensen...
... never tried episode pro... hmmmm. :)

maybe flv encoder is now better than sorensen, didnae used to be. we only use episode now though.

but would I need to resize in say cleaner? Or should I just use flash encoder

by resize... do you mean crop?

say i have 1600x1200 and i resize it to its aspect ratio at 800x500 and i want to make it 800x200 etc
