Whoever invented nicotine patches was a genius. I can't think of an invention more useless and addictive at the same time.

this is my 52th hour.... from pack and half a day... too nothing.. than had to take a patch cause i was extremely dizzy and almost fell in to subway tracks..

the sad thing is that even after my dad passing away from smoking didnt stop me... what the fuck is wrong with me. it was this panic attack that i just stopped.

it gets better after 3 days or so. Bring a water bottle around with you and have a drink/a few deep breaths when feeling a craving.
most important: Do not talk yourself into having 'just one'... it always leads to more.

It is not an easy thing to stop....it's on the order to kicking crack or heroin. I'd say the gum is your best bet. Take up an exercise regimen, like going running every day, it definitely helped for me.

Treat it with the seriousness it deserves....if you can, take a week off work or something. The first three days are the hardest, then after a month or so it will be really tough as the last traces of nicotine are gone.

Shoot, it is HARD! Try Chantix, MrD. It worked for my mother (she's almost up to a year now), although she said it gave her weird dreams. I quit about six years ago cold turkey, but it was, like, my sixth time. Just keep trying, man.
