Starting the impossible task of classifying my fonts. A real head melter.
So...
Here's a free idea for anyone working in Apple. Take Aperture, tweak it a bit, and make it a font management utility. We need keywords people! You have the technology! Build it and they will come, or at least I will.

They're too busy fixing MobileMe. But, I do like the idea and would be very happy if they implemented it... LinoType Font Explorer X is alright, but there are times I wish I could do more with it.

or even - linotype people - take note: let me delete multiple fonts from the menu lists and then export all the fonts (intact) into a new library - like a playlist. its so slow to go through and delete one by one.

These are all good ideas. Keep them coming.

Suitcase is what we use. Works well.

i think linotype is the best ive used - never had any problems with it. i think it just needs some more features.
what about colour coding depending on what style - like the star ratings in bridge... i know it has ratings - but they're clumsy to use. needs shortcuts!

Suitcase Fusion for teh win... it's got a great new feature for adding class to fonts

Yeah, I'm not a fan of suitcase either. It never quite worked for me. The quest continues....
I think developers need to take a fresh look at font management, that's why I suggested a system like Aperture or Lightbox. If it works for photos why not fonts?

have you guys even tried Suitcase since it went Fusion.. much much better... i'm on a Mac and had used Suitcase through OS9, switched to Lino and now have come full circle.

adding category/keyword metadata to fonts in Fusion:

Ok fusion is drawing me back... like the M.Falcon to the Death Star.

Use Linotype FontExplorer X. Good organization tools, too.
