My girlfriend is writing an article for a magazine on LARPing. (those geeks that dress up like orcs and run around in the forest) i went with her this weekend to one to help her do her research for the article. OMG funniest /weirdest/saddest thing ive ever seen. typical cliches, IT guys etc but was astonished at how into it they were and how old some of them were, ill post some pictures when i get them from the photographer but man o man its some funny shit.

I find it fascinating (read: desperate) that people like this spend entire weekends pretending to be someone/something else.
They real lives must be fucking terrible to participate in that crap...

these dudes were there for 5 days. its was so boring. i was at least expecting to see some epic battles or somethin, but they just sat round talking to eachother in character. my god. also i thought they would be embarressed to be 'caught' on camera , but they were so excited, especially seeing the journalist and photographer were 2 beautiful blondes, you shouldve seen their eyes....hehehe, they didnt even notice me i dont think...
- err to emphasise, we were there for 5 hrs and i was bored silly, 5 days? id kill myself.********

I once was into Dungeons & Dragons stuff... when I was 15 y-o! It was a lot of fun. But when you're 30 y-o..... its weird.

My friends and I do something like that. Except we dress up in our favorite clothes, and watch bands, and dance, and drink, and take drugs, and fuck all weekend.
We call it "partying."

yeah i mean fuck, if it makes them happy then cool, i just wonder how unhappy they must be in their real life ... a couple of the younger dudes were telling us how boring their neighbourhood was etc but surely playin fantasy shit during the weekend isnt the best / healthiest way to make your life exciting?
