I need a font wich looks like some embroidery or sewing.
I would have done it by myself for some letter, but I need the whole font set, so my client could write the words.thanks

looks like you could just play with the 'scribble' effect in illustrator and use whatever font you want.

You can get really convincing results using the Stitch script in Scriptographer. If I had access to my work files I'd show you the type of thing I did using Stitch and other Illustrator filters. Looks pretty convincing when it's done.
- Sorry, I didn't read the whole client part either :/5timuli

Sometimes clients have unreasonable needs. Make the alphabet and provide the letters, but creating a typeface that they can use is above and beyond.
- not the client fault. I'm currently making some tests, and I keep in mind I wont do every pieces of adverts etcdyspl

So... I'm the process of proposing ideas to the clients, differents styles etc... what the point with buying a font for a prop that the client won't go for?
if the client wants the propostion with this font, then I'll have no problem with buying it.- include a production budget in your proposals for things like this, courier/postal fees, transportation, etc.johndiggity

1 - if you're anyting like me - you will hoard fonts just for the sheer fun of it. - i have around 500 fonts i have fully paid for and only used about 8 of them on actual paid projects!
2 - if you dont want to .. then suck it up and do it in scriptographer.. if its just for ideas.. can you not do it by hand and scan it? - i doubt the client woud want to see more than 2 iterations of the font in different contexts

If you have FontLab/Fontographer and the letters are already done in Illustrator, creating a typeface might take only a few hours... depends on how many characters you want to have ready for typing/your client needs (i.e. only upper case oder both upper & lower case, punctuation marks – which and how many, numbers, etc.), the quality of the result might be arguable... might turn out pretty shitty with awful kerning and so on...
