Can anyone here tell me some good Australian based companies I can use for registering domain names and web-hosting?

webcity.com.au for domains and www.netlogistics.com.au for hosting + domains

austdomains.com.au
smartyhost.com.authese are pretty cheap to register - from some fucking reason melbourneIT still charge a couple of hundred, or at least were recently. no one can give me a decent reason why you'd pay a lot for name registration.
hosting - do you need to use an australian host for any reason? offshore (US especially) will get you a better deal.
- agreed, i've been using media temple for a couple of years now. great!CheDouglas

Hostway has offices in Australia. Worth a look.

I have been using www.netregistry.com.au for domains, not the cheapest though.
Hosting in the US on Dreamhost as I can host an unlimited number of domains on the one account. The hosting actually makes money for me.

I currently have a soft spot for Segment Publishing's hosting: http://segpub.net, and am registering domains with http://crazydomains.com.au because they seem to be the cheapest.
Hosting locally seems to reassure my clients, but other than that and sentimentality it doesn't seem to be that economical (excluding domain registration for .au domains obviously).
