We did virals for it and I saw a bunch of the other scenes that aren't in trailers. Gotta say, some of it is funny as hell. . . looks to me to be a notch up from Pineapple Express or Knocked Up and all that "stoner comedy" shit. A bit smarter.

they pulled the website for 'Once there was a retard' ... it was pretty strong, i remember seeing it... I must admit i laugh at stuff like that but it is more about laughing at people who are actually totally of key on these issues (i.e. laughing at david brent for example)
Although i must admit i'd probably think differently if i had a family member or friend with a disability, as people are selfish like that

It's funny. I would watch it. People just have to realize that it's a film, and that it's tasteless to go around and say the same things the characters say out loud, or to actually believe in everything the film "says" about anything without being assertive and aware.

yeah these kids are funny and do and say the craziest things.
but sometimes they can really get on your nerves because most of the times their not as dumb as people think they are, so they take advantage of it and when you are around them for a while you pick up on that and it's like "ah hell no!" lol.
it's frustrating at times because it takes a lot of work for a wee bit of progress and if the family does not follow through, it makes the work useless.
but one thing is for sure, there's never a dull moment. :)

Yes saying these types of things to someone with disabilities is not nice. But people need to understand that in movies or South Park it's more of a social commentary than anything else.

just kind of a desperate source for humor really, isnt it ?
Ben Stiller and Jack Black in a movie that uses the word 'retard' over and over again instead of genuine wit ?
Id sooner shit in my own pocket than watch that.
If there was any justice in the marketplace, then noone would show up, pay their $15, breathe in foul buttered popcorn smell for 45minutes while they watched incredibly loud commercials, then watch the film.
But people watch and do exactly what they're fucking told to do, including watching this pile of shit made by a huge list of fucking assholes with nothing better to do. I hope everyone who goes to see it really really hates it, or even better is bored to death by Jack Black, who I at one time thought was funny, but then realised was just being presented in pointless and contrived 'hollywood comedy' situations, and subsequently realized he was an imaginationless twat.- well said.Gucci

They should have the right to say whatever they want...I just won't go see this film. It's bad taste, and offensive imo. For anyone who thinks this is funny, wait until someone close to you is mentally ill.

Anyone see this yet?

So I went to see this at the theatre, it started spectacular..
Just when I was thinking "this is going to be an awesome movie" It got stale, jokes started to be less and less funny, movie was too long, every now and then a small laugh, most of the times if I had this on DVD I would have ffw a lot of parts..Great flick to catch on kpbs, not worth the $10 bucks at the theatre

^ dude, you crazy. That movie was HYSTERICAL! I think I missed a bunch of the lines as I was laughing so hard. It's a complete parody film that makes fun of at least 25 major films, not to mention studio executives and actors. I thought it was brilliantly funny and had some really smart humor in it. I might go see it again this weekend. But really, if you don't think it's funny, I want you to take a step back... and literally fuck your own face!

"After watching the film, I think Ben Stiller has pulled off the ultimate joke on these ridiculous groups that claim to be “offended”. Seriously, he has made a fool out of a lot of people. Hopefully, the more intelligent movie-going crowd realizes that the whole film is one big slam towards actors...right? Robert Downey Jr. isn’t making fun of black people, he’s making fun of actors that get obsessed with their roles. Jack Black isn’t making fun of fat people, he’s making fun of lame comedians that use the same schtick over and over despite the fact it hasn’t been funny for decades. Ben wasn’t making fun of the mentally handicapped; he was making fun of talentless action stars that try to do dramas. If anyone should be picketing the film, it should be the SAG because they’re the only ones that got attacked in the film."
- Good for Stiller and that fake black guy that Downey plays, same thing. Get over yourselves.********

I finally watched it and I thought it sucked. Ben Stiller plays the same character he plays in Zoolander. Pineapple Express was much funnier.
- Odd, i watch both films together as well. Liked them both though.harlequino

I haven't seen Pineapple Express yet, but something tells me I'm going to like it a lot.
