I used to know a lead designer who made his dotted lines in photoshop like that, looked fucking stupid because the spacing wasn't always perfect if he used the wrong kind of font

turn them 45 degrees and then start a thread asking people to crit your billboard design.

am i stupid or is there no way of making dotted lines in photoshop besides this or importing from illustrator?

you can also chose the line tool in pshop and then go to shape style and chose from the 'dotted line' list.
