Most subjective question ever.
I deal a little on the side as a hobby and have been through a number of P-cars over the past few years. Realizing that this thread is merely a way to stir up nonsense opinions about cars you've never driven, and probably never will, please allow me to give my humble side of the story.
Again, 'best' is subjective. What is best? Fastest in a straight line? Fastest around a corner? Prettiest? Most comfy?
For the best overall car, not having a second car, the '7 Turbo. If you have a daily driver, the Turbo's almost over-perfection and calm frankly gets a bit dull over time, unless the only thing that excites you is how hard it accelerates over 155 mph. (pretty hard). It's an absolutely brilliant car in all aspects, but they made it too good. I had an Audi S8 before - it is strangely similar in many, many aspects. Not what you'd expect in a semi-supercar. BUT! The backseat does fit a baby seat! And that's pretty much it.
The "best" Porsche in the other end of the spectrum is the one that does all that, but has space for a baby seat AND a stroller, and is relatively roomy overall, along with 75% of the performance. The Cayenne Turbo. The most pleasant bonus being how it annoys environmentalists and hippies. I love it!
And then there's the third. The one that you can't let sit in the driveway for more than 24 hours before your legs and arms start shaking, telling you just HAVE to go out and drive it. The one forcing you make up excuses to your fiancee for, about "having" to go into the office, just so you can drive. The one that you just spent 16 days across Europe in, without air conditioning, power steering, ABS or sound proofing in. And it didn't bother you because you loved every minute of it. You came home 14 days ago, yet the boxer-growl is still in your ears.
The 964 RS. In my opinion, the best Porsche in the world.
Thanks for letting me ramble on about the cars ...... Am on parental leave and is bored to bits. And can't go out and drive...

so jawks, you admonish the people here for never having driven a porsche yet still having an opinion while you base your experience on whether or not you can fit a freaking baby seat in it.

I had a boss who gave away his 964 to a company contest. he said it was a pos.
