Do you guys know sites/tutorials/tips about products photography... like a book, poster, whatever. I want to see how that works: chroma, lights, camera, etc.
Thanks!

Basic sets.. grab 2 alien bee's, a white formica (to make the sweep) some white foamcore to make fills.. and either make or buy a scrim (diffuser) to float overtop..

The one above seems a little out of touch.. "DO NOT USE A FLASH! Flashes wash out colors and details" is pretty much wrong, actually all wrong.. some of the PShop stuff is ok.. but don't be afraid of Flash.. remember they are 5500k, and those lights looked like tungsten to me.. and thats gonna give you yellow images...

staying on topic, the general idea of product photography is to showcase the product. Light it evenly but still manage to capture its volume (width, height, depth, or roundness, etc). Avoid specular highlights and harsh shadows. Try to get everything in focus.
Shoot away and practice.

Rent some light gear. I like to use Broncolor and Profoto. Very nice constant light. Get some light modifiers to control the light, large medium soft box for sure.
It will be a long day for your if this is your first time, but you will get it. Rememeber the 4 foot rule, that light is 1/2 as strong as you move your light source away from the subject. To shot on white is nice, but can cast shadows, black will really absorb all lot of light. Canon cameras sync at 250. Watch your DOF. Clean the product, use the "white gloves". MOST IMPORTANT HAVE FUN!

or even an Canon XTi or XT would serve Justice. I would Canon D40 or higher if you can. The lens is really gonna do the magic. ;)
