There's more than one class of troll though - the classic NT-esque troll who's actually pretty creative and takes a bit of getting into character which even if you hate them you sort of respect the effort. Then there are the new types who are just stupid, annoying kids who act up then get huffy when they get ripped for it. They're the ones who make it shit, not because they're worth a monkey's fuck, but because their boring, pointless and inane kiddy patter is simply shit.

True, Ian and admittedly there is no greater pleasure watching a troll getting ripped apart take Dust_Mine's 'community website thread' that was hilarious, but there are too many tossers floating about on here compared to the NT days, you just know that even good threads are starting to get ruined and hijacked by these dicks!

I only ever used the ignore feature on one person as they became slowly unhinged, just couldn't plough through the ramblings anymore. Then I was just reading the responses to the ignored posts and thought 'shit, wtf and I missing?' so took em off ignore again. Think it lasted about 1 month.
While I would like the option to use it again, I think I'd just have the same reaction, I'd be reading the responses and have to read what people were getting worked up about.
- Hi Ian. Hows things?Concrete
- Hey dude! Things are all good here, whats the craic with you?ian
- Sweet as peach, although I'm sick today. :'(Concrete
- Aww, hope its nothing serious like a man-cold or anything! But on the other hand, it is Thursday and there's no FMT...ian
- Good call. I shall start one!Concrete

Christ *ian*: if all you lot did was critique logos and identify fonts; this place would bore the shit out of me. And this palce exists purely for my own amusement... as does the whole world....

why did the ignore feature have to go?
- paraselene0
yes, but just think how much easier everything would be if you could simply *ignore* certain people. i, for one, would be around a lot more if the ignore feature were reinstated... perhaps this is why the qoob has not done so...

I agree that some of the newbies are annoying, but I believe that there's still enough people on the site that want to help (not just to slag off). If we disregard the postings of the crop circle rubbish and general money/investment banker shite and just look at others I'm pretty sure that for every thread that gets slagged off and shit on theres another thats getting real responses and help from people.
Remember that thread about concretes logo that everyone pitched in on, or OMG's current logo thread. And Im pretty sure that if I needed some flash help I could post up and get some decent replys. Hell, the last time I did that I ended up IM'ing PonyBoy for hours as he helped me to get sorted.
- Not saying here that concrete actually asked people to pitch in on his logo, but people were just helping out.ian

Yes Para, I meant to say my threshold should have increased with time, but I think the ignore feature has aided my experience on here, and kept me oblivious to trolls, therefore taking it away, is like removing a walking stick from someone who relies on it to get about!
QBN I need to walk again!!
- double that. "ignore" was the best way to keep this here clean

the funny thing is, everything seems to follow a backward evolution. even clubbing or going to a local pub becomes a glance of idiocracy. it's like respect and irony stopped existing

I was thinking it's just me getting older, and having been using this board for over 4 years now, I think I have developed less of a threshold for annoying little wankers, but the frequency of fucktards that pollute this space (post re-design) has gone off the scale!
Give me back Derek, uhohseangetty(?) or son any day!
- amen, brother!
also, the loss of the ignore feature, which i relied upon greatly, hasn't helped.paraselene

I have been on here a while, still feel like a noob. I agree though, things have changed. I got banned in 2004 for calling something shit. I liked the stern administration.

PABLO SPILLED SOME PAINT!!!

Without the kids we would have no pedo pablo. Something to think about.
- ukit0
the difference is that now many of the newbies are actual kids.

Does a vintage of 2005 make one old school? Not for lurking mind you, rather actual posting.
And yes, some of the new kids would benefit from 40 lashes.
