Apple Cinema Displays?!

Well I'm wondering since I want to buy a new Macpro desktop with a 23" or 30" Apple Cinema Display, when is Apple releasing the new models ? Any one as an idea ? Since the actual Apple/Mac Displays are really poor in technology compared to Dell, Samsung, Lacie, Sony and other screens...and they still are expensive compared to other top brands.

I run an Apple 23 on my internet computer where I don't really care about color, because it was cheap...
...if you care at all about matching color, go with the LaCie models, thats what we've always used at the office, and the calibrate well. A little extra $, but worth it.

Modem, from what I have read apple cinema displays arent updated since 2004!!! The new Dell screens are completly up to date!

Anyway I find this situation a bit ridiculous, no update for 4 years ??? And still they are overpriced.

The new dell screens are mostly TN panels, ie. the whole 20" line is all TN-based. These are useless for anything requiring color accuracy.

- That's only partly correct. Some use S-PVA, the 30" uses a S-IPS panel which is the updated version of Apple's 30" LCD.albo

I would like to wait for the "never coming out" new monitors by Apple, still they are not confirmed, everyone is asking for them for years and no news...loads of gossips no kind of official information...I wonder if should I wait for the new screens...

I personally prefer Glossy :) they should release glossy and matte.

i got my 30" acd in feb. honestly, its already good enough. what more do you want? a web cam inside it?

love my Apple CD but yes they are about to update.
i've also seen lots on the used market because many PPC g5 owners are switching to MBP's and iMacs.
