you obviously haven't read the book "Tuesday with Moire" He kinda started the whole, write about your death as your dying schtick. which, if you think about it, is kinda what all writers do...

Even though everyone dies, it is still sad, and it isn't until you personally lose someone close, in this case a father, that you realize death is not a joke anymore. This is what Randy Pausch feared the most, leaving his boys behind.. sad sad sad.
