Sources close to Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign are suggesting he will reveal the name of his vice presidential selection this week while Sen. Barack Obama is getting the headlines on his foreign trip. The name of McCain's running mate has not been disclosed, but Mitt Romney has led the speculation recently.
- The Maverick and the Mitt!TheBlueOne
- I think Romney would be an incredible mistake.mrdobolina
- So pick that magic underwearing neo-reaganite.Mimio
- so I hope the RNC picks romney.mrdobolina
- Romney is a 50/50 pick. He adds financial heft, which McCain needs...but definitely alienates the religious base more...TheBlueOne

(sigh.....def not trying to get in another "God" debate, but only trying to make my point)
The very thing that the Christian religion holds sacred and is a fundamental belief is Christ and his Atonement on the cross. Without this, there is NO Christianity period.
To quote the Bible, Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Obama claims to be Christian on one hand, but then denies this absolute fundamental of the Christian faith as stated above by claiming all paths lead to God. This is, after all, the very definition of what it means to be a Christian. These two beliefs are mutually exclusive. If you believe all paths lead to God, there was absolutely no point to Jesus coming to earth...and thus the Christian faith has no purpose.
- That's..like...yer opinion ..maaan.Mimio
- So, basically - you're right and Obama, muslims, buddhists, and catholics are SOL? Got it.TheBlueOne
- no it's not it is what the Christian Church has taught for thousands of years ( which Obama claims to be part of)designbot
- The bums lost Lebowski!ukit
- There's all kinds of Christians.Mimio
- Exactly. Spotted ones, striped, ones with oatmeal like texture. All kinds.harlequino
- I like the snake handling ones.Mimio
- it is ridiculous that a book written thousands of years ago has absolutely anything to do with this.mrdobolina

^ I new I would get hate for that...I don't care if you agree with those stated beliefs or not. I only care that Obama is claiming to be a Christian.
- "get hate"?? You just said a particular protestant line of thinking is correct and fuck everyone else..TheBlueOne
- No, I said that is what the Christian faith teaches and , the faith Obama claims to be part of.designbot

As my grandfather once said to me "Don't be distracted by shadows..."
Behold, shadows.

i'm with you designbot. whether or not you're christian doesn't matter to me. i agree with what you're saying and i've learned to call religious people like obama "hypocrites". they only do and say these religious things when it is to their benefit and convenience.
- doesn't make him a bad person, simply trying to get as many votes as possible whilst offending the least peopleJG_LB

so what do you think of george bush? about ten times worse.- i think he's simply a great actor used as a pawn by his superiors and a scapegoat by the rest.JG_LB
- and if he really isn't acting, then he's a complete dupe being used as a pawn by his superiors and a scapegoat by the rest..JG_LB
- i don't even think he's a great actor. i'm soooo tired of him :(sputnik2
