Graduated from Portfolio Center last week, moved to Chicago, and I'm hitting the job market.
Advice and tips are always welcome.

Good luck
And, nice work, for a recent graduate. Only quibble I have is that your site should land you right on your work, instead of having Portfolio as the third nav item down. Otherwise, great job.

Ah good call. I'm fixing that now, thank you!

I'd add - seems a bit weird to have two "levels" of navigation, with Home, About etc. in one layout and the portfolio in another. I'd simplify it so that all the links available in just one format. Minor quibble, but every detail counts when you are trying to land a first job:D
- Absolutely! And easily fixed. I'm adjusting the CSS now and will have it fixed soon. I really appreciate the comments!thinblkglasses

The navigation is driving me nuts because of how it jumps all over depending on how long the body copy is. I know it's not a huge deal, but, I would address this. I hate having to look for a menu...

Not something I'd considered, but easily fixed with a new DIV.

Solid work. This is just a suggestion...you might think about having the "Big Ass Dog" as the first project you click on, and have packaging 1st, b/c I feel that is your strongest piece.
As far as the job front:
• Bump this on Monday, maybe someone from the Chi can help you out
• Work your connections
• If you can't find anything try and find something temporary, maybe placement agencies
• Keep your spirits upGood luck
- Great advice, thank you. I'm very excited, mildly daunted but willing to push harder than necessary to get where i want. Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.thinblkglasses

One way to do it might be
name
global nav
sub nav

I'd make the links stand more out from the normal tekst. Choose another color or use some text-decoration for the links, so they're easily recognized as links.
Oh and good luck on finding a great job. :)
- Will be testing that tonight.thinblkglasses

Very nice work Kevin, congrats and good luck.
BTW - please move your nav/menu to the left handside.
- I hate left-hand navigation, but it is worth a test. Thank god for CSS.thinblkglasses

Thanks again everyone for the advice on the nav, I've tweaked it last night. If anyone is looking for a junior designer in Chicago, I'd love to know.
