Now watch all of the anti-American sheep come droning in with their one-word insults and monosyllabic ad hominem attacks.

But I don't live in Canada
- ********0
That's ok. but can you sleep?
- hedge0
But really, God isn't the one to thank. We should thank our fathers and their infinite blood, sweat, and tears they've poured into this nation.
- them too.Llyod

It's nothing to do with god, it's hard-work, sacrifice and having the balls and the vision to do things the way you know they should be done. 'In God We Trust' only appeared on the dollar bill in 1964.
- Shit, I kind of agreed with Hedge there.mikotondria3
- I AM HEDGE.hedge
- It's ok to agree with me sometimes.hedge

- do you worship that eight armed elephant?Llyod
- Canada will always be the #1 place for me. I like a lot of the people from the U.S.A., but the politics leave a bad taste.Jaline
- I'm not a religious person. I'm fine with participating in various religious activities just to experience them though.Jaline
- What would possibly make canada #1?hedge
- I have my reasons.Jaline
- Just because!...hedge
- There are many good things about the U.S.A. too, don't get me wrong. I already said a lot of the ppl. It's probably in my top 5.Jaline
- No, not "just because". I don't want to go on about it b/c this thread is not about Canada. If you want more info, Wiki it.Jaline
- Haha.
Wiki it.hedge - You win at this thread.hedge

Every American wakes up and says: "Holy tornadoes, I'm an American". Then they woke up again.

Now I'm not anti-american or anything... sure the Bush administration is a bunch of Nazis and a lot of your countrymen couldn't point out The Middle East on a world map, let alone know the difference between a Muslim and a Christian. But what I would like to know is; why do you constantly feel the need to reassure yourself that you're the greatest?
It's like some gay people who constantly need to tell you they are gay. OK! You're gay. Cool!.... or when stoners are stoned. They constantly need to tell you how stoned they are.
Is it overcompensating? What is it that makes you feel the need to keep telling people? Why are you so afraid people will think any less of you?
- Because it's true.hedge
- And people need to learn to accept it.hedge
- It's responses like that hedge, that make me think you must live in a trailer.Invalid
- It would explain why you feel the need to lie about riches all the time...Invalid
- Educated folk don't live in trailers.hedge
- to be fair, i know 3 canadians who have to mention canada EVERY time i see them.sputnik2
- Maybe that ties in with wearing a Canadian flag on your backpack as a tourist. Ppl will receive you better. Fact.Jaline

You know what's even better than living in the greatest nation on earth?
Living in the greatest nation on earth and not bragging about it, and treating it simply as your belief, not a declared fact.

I can't say that I'm exactly "on the same page" as these Lloyd and hedge people (especially the "God" part), but I love my country, and I'm very grateful to live here. As much as we're reviled, we are more of a positive and beneficent dynamic in the world than we are an injurious one.
