im trying to use my wacom in Mouse Mode (so that the screen isnt mapped to the wacom screen.. i hate that), but when i use that mode, its like the pen's DPI or whatever is INSANELY LOW.... its not accurate, and very jumpy.
but if i use Pen mode, where the screen is mapped, its extremely smooth and fine.. i just hate the wacom translating exactly to the screen..
is there some way to fix this, so the Mouse mode works just as smoothly?

I use mine in mouse mode too, but I haven't ever had an issue like this. You may have to reinstall. Wait to see if anyone else can help, though.

yeah i tried reinstalling but no avail. its beserk.. it cant be a hardware problem right, because otherwise it wouldnt be perfect in pen mode. im using the latest drivers and everything, on XP. and im using an Intuos 3

make sure the tablet is plugged into a clean USB port (ie: not a hub, not your monitor) you want a clean, powered usb. Try to remove anything that may be creating interference in the cable.
I had a similar problem... turned out to be either interference or low power... plugging directly into the tower fixed it.

usb port is clear, and its directly into the tower port
