ive got ten days off after friday then sixteen in august. im planning on spending the time musicmaking. finishing off stuff ive had in the pipeline for ages and starting some new stuff too.
the drum samples (of individual drums and of loops) ive got, ive been through them all and im in need of some new stuff.
so even if thats just a couple of nice bassdrum and snare wavs or if its a collection of good beat loops.
any wavs to be had?
good links to pages with free stuff?
recommended drumsample cd's/software?
any torrent links?stylewise - any kind of dance beats or drums, big beat (dance), chemical brothers, justice, daft punk sounding stuff, breakbeats. anything and everything.
cheers

23kon, what programs are you using?

ive got many-a-free cd from magazines and probably every oldschool drumsound 808, 909, akai's etc was just after something a bit newer.
humper-jones im using abletonlive and have done for a good few years, before that was cubase.
might actually think about getting Recycle to recycle old beats and see what it comes out with. never used that prog

I like electronic music, but as a analogue musician (things with strings n shit) I sometimes wonder why people who write electronic stuff always seem to be a little bit lazy with creating their sounds. I mean improvise, record it, and loop it. Or am I missing something?
- well that's a bit of a generalization. when i was more low tech that was my modus operandi, but now i find i can come up with a wider palette in less time thru a combo of sampling and synthesis and focus more on writing rather than tweakingacescence

I made an excellent bass 'thunk' out of an old sprung mattress once. Sounded fucking great!

You got Live 7 - thats got a slicing feature in it - no need for Recycle!
Also try chopping up some Garageband loops in Live 7 - if you're on a mac...

If you ever fancy a new plug in check out the following link:
http://www.kvraudio.com/allplugi…
they have oodles of funky vst's
you can filter it for free ones too..

plus if you like contorting big beat/break beat/trip hop (or pretty much any beat) I would recommend this free vst:
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1904… - it's free, easy to use and can produce some excellent sounds.

The previews are crap quality, to prevent recording presumably. I've never tried any of their producer packs, but djdownload.com is awesome, I use them all the time and every single download I've ever bought has been crystal clear, perfect quality. 320k or 192k choices too...

Acidplanet has mini-packets of loops called 8packs that are free from time to time. You could take a chance on that
