ive been interested in a 15.4" macbook pro for a while now, but im concerned about the resolution.
basically i need an equivalent powerhouse laptop with a much higher screen resolution. something to the effect of 1920 horizontal pixels.
can anyone recommend one?

Well the 17" does 1680 x 1050, I'm not sure you'll find 1920 on a laptop?
I'm sure someone here will prove me wrong...

- you can get 1920 on the 17" macbook pro for about £70 extrakalkal

some PC laptops can get that high, but the pixels are just much more condensed making everything micro

My Dell Precision M90 17" is 1920x1200
Pretty damn nice and the same res as my desktop (which is a 24")
Apple's 17" only goes to 1680? That seems odd/cheap

Apple 17" standard is 1680x1050 but goes up to 1920x1200
Apple 15" is only 1440x900 (but you can choose normal and glossy)(and my 3 year and half old dell 15 is 1680x1080)
I'd suggest to go with the MBP 17" which is pretty compact and there's no big difference in size compared to a 15.

yeah i've got a 17inch that is 1920... they are two distinct models though (the 1680 and 1920 ones)

1440x900 on 15,4 screen is fine, on my hp nx7400 1280x800 is enough but sometimes too small
