where does he work?

It was inspiring stuff. Truly amazing he did it in Infini-D. Proof that it is the artist, not the software.
I hope he does get a film made, the guy put the time in.

The guy who does Rustboy and XL5 is called Brian Taylor.
He used to work as an illustrator at the graphicdesign/advertising company started by my dad and a few friends years n years ago.
When I was at art college he was working there teaching illustration and also new media stuff like 3D / Director and the startings of Flash. Seeing what brian was doing in Director was the thing that really got me into new media.
I remember seeing Rustboy first renderings and animations when I was at college - whats that, 7 or 8 years ago! so its been a long time coming but i REALLY hope that Pixar are helping him fund his dream :)

where'd you see this on CGchannel ?

I used to follow the Rustboy progress as well. Then lost interest when momentum on the project seemed to slow to a halt. I'd love to see him finish it, even if it isn't in Infini-D anymore :)

By the looks of his blog, his prints and toy designs have really taken off.
