Anyone know of any good plugins that have choir sounds or big epic soundtrack synths?
I used to have a plugin for Cubase that I cant seem to get working for Ableton - perhaps i need to find it and download it again if i can find it online.
This plugin used to have synths called Highlander and horror movie names and the synths sounded like that of the soundtracks.
any pointers?

Juno and maybe FM7

epic and synths for some reason don't seem to make those 2 together.. not sure what kind of movies you are thinking off, but to me epic screams real orchestra sounds... but then again I was never really sure what to put in the "epic movie" bag...

choir, you want a sampler and the "symphony of voices" sample cd sets...
http://www.spectrasonics.net/lib…epic soundtrack synths, fm7 is good, but absynth would probably have more of what you're looking for.
also, spectrasonics has another synth called atmosphere that a lot of people use for soundtrack work

The Antares AVOX bundle does a nice job with doubling. They have a Double VST & a Choir VST, and they can be used for synths.
Have you tried chaining a Delay (90% feedback) to Reverb (%50 +)? Using the Reverb as an after-effect to the Delay usually generates some feedback articles, depending on how much you tweak the knobs.

And if you haven't snagged the MDA-VST collection yet, do so now. They're a good dozen+ free VSTs for PC & MacOS and I use several of them pretty often.

Although it's not a VST plug-in, has anyone else on here heard of a site that lets you upload your .wav files, plays it out of a speaker, echoes through a huge cylinder in Germany, records it, then gives you the sample back? I'm having the hardest time finding/remembering the site.

Native Instruments Reaktor, or if that is too intimidating (it can be), then Reaktor Absynth 4.

http://www.smartelectronix.com/I'm sure if you sift through some of these, you'll find something worth your while.
I recently purchased the "replicant" plug-in.
One word, AMAZING! Audio Damage definitely carries some pretty amazing plug-ins.

How do you load VSTs?
- Can't help you there. I'm a mac person myself.kern2burn
- I'm on a mac too, I have all of the plug ins in the VST folder, but how do you get them to work?JackRyan
- As far as I know VSTs don't work on Mac. Audio Units , or AU works on Mac. What DAW are you using?kern2burn
- Ableton, my friend gave them to me. And I just started using it, so I had no idea that VSTs were just for the PC.JackRyan
- Unfortunately (as far as I know) they're only for PC. No worries though.kern2burn
- Have you asked your friend if he / she has the Audio Units version of the plug-ins?kern2burn
- Once you figure out your plug-in situation, just look for the Ableton folder in your applications folder. There should be a "plug-ins" folder there.kern2burn
- should be a "plug-ins" folder there. After that, just drop your AUs in that folder. That should do it.kern2burn
- You'll probably have to restart Live before they propagate.kern2burn
- Thanks a lot man.JackRyan

VSTs do work on Macs kern2burn. JackRyan, in Ableton you just have to go in the preferences and point it to wherever your VST folder is or it can use the system one by default. . . then you say "rescan plugins" or whatever and they load in. You don't have to restart or anything.
Some of the older ones don't work, they just won't show up.
