We just launched a new website for our company, its been an unfinished site for a wee while but we've got an advert in the Digital Drum tomorrow so thought we'd get the site finished and live.
Hasnt got ALL our portfolio in there at the moment as there was going to be too much to write to get it live - theyl go up over time though.
Crit it or rip it to shreds or let me know that you think

I dig it. I would swap 'our services' & 'case studies'
leading on second intro paragraph should be consistent.
nice work!

good suggestion about swapping sides actually.
might suggest that to the guys.
itl just take seconds to do with our fancyspangled drag n drop CMS ;)
(gotta constantly practice the sales patter)

General feel is clean, attractive, welcoming.
A) I would pay attention to the joint where the tabs meet that first line. It's (in FF3) sloppy looking; they don't intersect cleanly, but overlap, making for a incoherent relationship.
B) Being picky, I would also try to figure out how you can make the lines in the far right column line up with the lines in the middle column

- we know about the FF3 issues, theyl be tackled :)23kon
- I also saw this and it really niggles me. Other than that the site looks cool. Good luck with the advertising.fodcj
- cheeeers :)
those wee glitches for FF3 will be addressed likes23kon

- I was looking at those two images above for fucking ages trying to see what you meant!Jnr_Madison
- the lines arent meant to line up, its be a pain trying to get them all to ....23kon
- ... as itd be diff on various browsers23kon
- Yeah, you're right. That may be my biggest peave with web design in general.Ampersanderson

How good is the cms?
works with a full flash xml driven site?
Cheers!
Oh, and nice work!=)

the images in the monitors are a bit of a waste of time... also make it look like the monitor is set to 640 or something

mimeartist:
some of the screens are animated like the DJ Alexander one, shows a mouse clickthrough of the site. all the sites will get done when we get time.mishga:
cheers :)
Yeah the cms is pretty damn good, the vienna apartments website - all the content (images n text) within the flash parts are all driven by the cms so the client can make updates.
The smokehead site was done before the cms was completed so all the content in that is just in the flash, but if we were building it now then it could be cms driven.

I would open links in a new window, keep losing your site every time I view some web work.
- 23kon0
Jnr.
seemingly its best practice for accessibility to do so.
it would be daft of us to say we were good at doing accessible websites and not practice what we preach eh
- 23kon0
after talking to one of the programmers, seemingly its not for accessibility lol. its just been done that way. it might be changing to _blank ;)
- kelpie0
I asked about this, pop ups are bad bad accessibility juju but opening in a new window is just frowned upon by the fascists of that ilk.
fuck em.
nice site Kon
- Jnr_Madison0
lol, now you mention it, I just looked it up and it seems your first answer was correct. It is an accessibility issue but can be easily solved by having an extra link i.e. 'open in a new window'. Screen readers etc can get fucked up if they have pop-ups etc disabled etc

I think the green need to be introduced somewhere else in the content. Something just seems missing and I suspect it's that. Just my opinion mind you :)
Apart from that, nice work.

We just been talking about this at work and seemingly the best practice (for facists of the ilk) is to launch in the same window.
However, if you are going to launch in a blank window then you should tell the user that you are going to be opening a blank window when they click the link.
So you could have the link then under it have (Opens in new browser window).Alright if you have a link at the end of your paragraph to launch the site but you cant really do that with links within sentences to highlight keywords and thus helping clients search engine ratings.

lots of repeated content on there dude (services) google wont like that!
- the double-links (nav and titles) ?23kon
- Not sure about that but you could do with tailoring the page titles to each page for better seo.Jnr_Madison
- no the services caption text. also using your site to deliver targetted links to your clients lol trixytrooper
