i used to use it, but it's buggy.
quark in particular gets hidden and you can't get it back.
for example: in space 1, hide quark. move to space 2. do something. go back to space 1. try and open quark. not happening.
not all the time, but sometimes. i've turned it off now. shame, 'cause it's pretty cool. obvious, but useful.

add the finder to all windows and the finder windows are always visible in all spaces, they wont move when you switch. also, in 10.5.3, sys prefs-> spaces uncheck that last item.

I'm not really into virtual desktops, but I have 2 set up then if I want to use full screen illustrator I shove that in one of them

anybody use it successfully with a dual monitor setup?
- digdre0
no i don't use it.

I dig spaces.
- Partly, for that lurching boss who passes by.
alt/option+left and it looks like I am back to work- Secondly, the whole work & play aspect. One screen for each. It's easy to manage your fun(tm)

I tried it, and in theory it was really good. However, I am using Adobe CS2 which is totally incompatible with most things Leopard.
I think there is a tutorial on the Apple site. It’s pretty simple.

I used it when I DJ/VJ'd. I would have my dj setup in one space and the vj thing set up in another and toggle.

I use it.. one for internetz, daily things, the other three for Photoshop/illustrator/indesign..
Its a bit buggy at times.. but not too bad.. really sucks if im working on photoshop, and have I chat on, then someone decides to message me, while im on a critical part of a photograph, it automatically takes me to the first space... really fucking annoying.
- i got all excited the first time that happened, but i can see how that would suck

i was thinking about keeping all my CS3's in one, iLife's in another, internet in the third (cuz i rock mad windows and tabs yo), all iWork in the fourth, then general productivity/communication apps like iCal, mail, ichat, taskpaper available across the board..

Live preview in space 1, TextMate in space 2, SQL/Terminal in space 3, iTunes/Mail in space 4.

I find it useless. I set it all up and then never use it.

use it on dual 23s... love it.
- i think that it is most useful on a laptop though.cramdesign

I feel the same way as 2cents. I tried using it once, as I am a big fan of organizational programs and tools, but I haven't used it. Ever.

love it, use it, more productive with it. . . esp. with spaces x 2 monitors.
mitee how do you add the finder to all windows? seems worthwile but the finder is not in the list of apps?

I really like it. Keep all Adobe apps in one window, Firefox in another, Safari in another with itunes, and music recording programs in another.
But, I don't activate spaces with any of the corner toggles. I only use the icon in the toolbar.
- I love the hot corners. I have spaces enabled in my top left corner.PIITB
