She was pretty much just wank material until John Byrne relaunched her series in the 80s as some sort of comedy book. It was quite good. Or well, for a 10 year old reader it was!!! And that's who super heroes should be made for k. The comic relief thing stuck to her since then. But she's still very capable and head strong, she's not a joke character that I know.
