I need your help and critiques

Hi guys, i need your help. I've spent several weeks to put online www.tagazee.com , a thematic blog aggregator. I like it, i like its layout, and i think contents are good (i will work more about them adding more).
But i receive no visits or feedback about it. Please don't consider this post as spam, i need to understand what's wrong with my creation in order to fix it. Do you think it is an interesing idea? Would you read it as a daily magazine? Do you like the community features?
I will be very glad to open a discussion with you about it, becouse i think it's a valid project. Thanx all!

I'm not too keen on the design, it's alright but I think your font choices and sizes make it look a little cluttered and lack focus a bit.
What have you done to market your site?
Why is is different to sites like Digg or Netvibes which are also content aggregators that a lot of people use?

Congratulations, you are the 151,000,000 person to post a blog in 2008. Overall a very boring layout with small pics. Nothing cutting edge about the content, looks generic, good luck my friend.

thanx jamble. i think it's really different from Digg, although "community features" are the same. In digg people goes to promote their contents, url, stories. In Tagazee all starts from blogs, and people open discussions starting from blog posts. A sort of trait d'union from bloggers and diggers, i think it's a news thing.
Sorry could you explain me better about design? English it is not my first language, and so i can't understand "cluttered".

Hi Vincent: i'm trying to add more categories. I think to use some "not generic" category as retrogaming,modding...geek stuff. Maybe i should reduce mainstream categories as gadgets or digital cameras.

Viewing your web site with Firefox, fyi.
- consider removing the divider lines -> text + box alignment define the grid
- small pics should be larger -> make the entire row fit the width of the page, maybe make them larger in height as well.
- not sure about the green in the lower section -> try making that orange, it takes away from the orange.
- you should make a footer for the stats part (i.e. orange bg + white text)
- loose the stroke on the welcome image
- extend the width of each menu item so it fits the box (no white space)
- not sure why your slogan is transparent, is it not important?

the design is pretty poor and uninspiring, looks like any number of standard wordpress type themes. The branding of the site is especially weak, as is the layout. If you're serious about getting this site sorted then i'd recommend getting someone to look at these things for you.

hi guys, i thanx you all.
Your suggestions are inspiring: i have worked a lot to make it minimal, clean, and replicable, but as i read, it results uninspiring and poor as a standard blog layout. Now the hard part comes: i will make it more appealing, but still in a clean way!

oki i've started to make changes:
- the header it's a bit more appealing.
- i've changed the menu colours in an apple green, and i've removed the fading.
- much more horizontal space for the news
* that white column on the left will be automatically filled when users will start to open discussionsi'm on the right way?

- dates are wrong on some story links (in the future)
- link to camera stories doesn't say what site you are going to... (should tell me I'm going to say dpreview.com vs site I don't like as much)
- thumbnails are poorly hacked out of background?
- not inspiring design, really needs cleaning up, attention to detail

you gotta pay a lot more attention to the hierarchy of headings, text sizes/colors how they are spaced..

you need to let people know what the hell it is they are looking at, at the moment it's basically like this:

@ribit: if dates are wrong it's not my fault, i retrieve data through rss feeds. Every link shows the source (in red, near the date).
I'm interested to your note about hierarchy. How could i improve it?@max: i explain everything...there the box on the upper right side with: about,discuss,bloggers,credits.

It needs more breathing room mate.
Drop the bg colours out of the TAGAZEE logo area - and get rid of the section titles and that 'everyboy feeds somebody' - so that it is just the logo.
Menu underneath - and underneath that - with more space - the section title.
