As you look back on your youth, what are some of the stupid things you wanted - toys, products, etc?
I'm talking things like Spoke-E-Dokes, those silly colored attachments for bike spokes, or, as my stepsister had to have, a silly turn signal for her bicycle when she only rode it around our quiet neighborhood.

This really stupid electrical engineering set where you had hundreds of different colored wires and diodes attached to a giant board, and you had to follow these massive diagrams running all the wires to their right ports. It took hours. Then end result if you got everything right when you flipped the switch was a light bulb lighting up. What an incredible waste.

Oh yeah the "toy aisle" at the grocery store. I always needed a piece of junk from there, but rarely got it

A potato gun. I had one once that was a water pistol, it shot corks and if you stuck the barrel into a potato, it would lodge a tiny piece in their and you could shoot it out. It were great, most of the other potato guns only shot bits of potato.

I used to collect basketball cards a lot. I actually still have them all all in mint condition. Maybe someday they'll be worth something :)

I was big into baseball cards, and looking back it's absurd how finicky we all were about "I have the entire set from this year by Tops!" or whatever. What a racket.

Laser Tag, probably. Played it for all of a week.
On the other hand, the Fischer Price PXL video camera that shot video on audio cassettes was the best thing ever. No one thought I should have it and I would forget about it immediateyl. But no fuckin way. Drove that sucker into the ground making stop motion movies with star wars figures and matchbox cars.

I needed this toy hiking/explorer kit thing with binoculars, a field guide, a compass and who knows what else.......so I could go looking for treasure.....in my suburban neighborhood of course
