right off the bat, it looked like a super market site.
- Fresh N Easy.. it's a chain that's starting to gain popularity here in Vegas..Mellimelvin

menu typeface = bad. personally I would like to see more of the lowercase type you have used in the logo instead of all the caps you have everywhere. It's a bit sparse also and I don't like how the text runs all the way across. Have you tried pulling the text in a bit - to line up with the left margin of the photo - and maybe sticking some more CTA type imagery underneath? It's all just a bit dry at the moment and un-enticing...

I'd choose a different material .. The grocery bag kind of cheapens it. I'd also choose a different font for the nav.

How about some terry cloth or other soft baby-ish fabric for texture?
Other than that, not really enough to comment on. I'd make the fruit bigger/juicier

what they said

The stuff in the lower left looks too flat and the polaroid-thing in the upper right makes the whole thing seem like it has just a few too many layers.

I like the overall "look and feel" and page layout.
I would absolutely change the typeface in the menu, probably use the same font as your header "Welcome to Fresh Start". I also agree with THA that the brown grocery bag is gives the site the feel of a supermarket use different texture.

i guess the question i *should* have asked is how do you prevent your clients from insisting you use bad ideas? (they wanted the grocery bag & the script nav!!)
- ismith0
Hand do the script yourself, but do it better. Then charge them tons for it. Otherwise just mock it up with something you think is better and if they turn it down, fuck them they can pay you for the shit and you can put the better one in your portfolio if you want.

Here is a web link to some free handwriten fonts for your menu navigation.

baby blanket instead of the grocery bag?? (way better, i think!)
- MrOneHundred0
Better.

Much.
Have you tried using a bit more fruit at the bottom - that image really isn't doing much for me or for the page.
Also think you could do with bumping up the html text size and decreasing the line height - it's too much right now.

i would switch the fig to an avocado for the following reason:
The avocado is rich in group B vitamins, preferably and high in folic acid; during pregnancy this is very important since the folic acid is essential in the formation of the baby's neural tube.
- Or use both?doctor

- Or switch it into a couple of beers loldoctor

Much better without the brown paper.
I can see where you want to go with the type in the navigation, but you should consider using something more legible. Maybe you can use the script type somewhere else on the site?
And yes, bump up the body font-size a little.
