After scouring the east and west coast for possible new job opportunities, I've settled on San Francisco. I have a couple of friends in the area, but if anyone has any suggestions on cool places to go / live / hangout, I'd be interested to hear some insider information.

^usually in SF you'd see a guy in panty hose and a bra and you'd say, "hey that guy's gay". but not so much in this photo.

$1100 is tough, you can get a tenderloin area studio for that... but it's in the tenderloin. could probably find a better deal if you go into a roommate situation. whatever you do stay from citiapartments! maybe something in the mission. i'm out in the sunset, which i like, can get good deals out here, but people act like i live out in siberia. but coming from manhattan, sf is so tiny that nothing is far away.
tons of good restaurants, don't even know where to begin. if you like to cook go to the farmer's market down by the ferry building.
lots of good music and art happenings in the mission, um let me think about this some more...

1100? may the force be with you...
- jayr0
what is more appropriate? 1100 is alright in ny, more in sf i suppose? i'm coming from baltimore, the tenderloin is probably just fine for me, i've heard it's rough though
- lumedia0
it is rough but its a relatively small area. just a few blocks either way and you are in a nice place. i wouldnt want to live there though.
I recommend Cole Valley but its $$ sorry.
- vanilla_cam0
tenderloin sucks. have a friend that lives there and as he was leaving the house in the morning, he was greeted with a full frontal squat piss from a local crackhead. coffee in hand, piss on shoes.
1100 is going to be tough. real tough.
- ukit0
how much is the rent in a decent SF neighborhood? nice neighborhood?
- e-pill0
i was in SF for 3 days in March. i spent over $1100.
:)
