Any suggestions aside from http://products.lowepro.com/cata…
I need to have them in one bag so they can go easily as a free hand luggage add-on on airplanes.
I need quick access to the camera. Extra non-hardware compartment is a plus.
Fastpack 250 is closest to what I want, but are there better options I dont know?

that one is great. i know a couple photogs that use that as a secondary pack on small jobs.
i cannot remember the name of the company at the moment, but that gear-maker from Israel made one (i *think*) that was dope. they were mostly known for their DV gear, but their stuff was solid for digital photogs, nonetheless.
let me check my bookmarks and i will get back to this.

I just saw it at a store today. It's a new model, at least here. Comes in a 17" laptop size as well.

use Kata Bags they specialize in camera bags and camera backpacks, their designs remind me of rhinos or armadillos they also specialize in bullet proof vests and jackets, they are afterall Israeli and provide a strong amount of product for the Israeli Special Forces.

I have a crumpler backpack, you can remove the laptop still in its sleeve which is handy as it gives me more room once Iv got to where Im going.

Kata seems really good, I wonder if it has the kind of theft protection Fastpack 250 does. I mean, the Lowepro has a flap covering the lower compartment zips. I just don't like to worry somebody's sneaking behind my back, if you know what I mean..
Which Crumpler are you guys using? There are tons of models it seems.
- get a pack that has the main opening towards yr backjaylarson

^^^ The Karachi Outpost is the crumpler above.

I use a Timbuk2 Messenger, medium size. It fits my dslr and a laptop well. Large if you want to carry more lenses, wrapped obviously, I made some bubble wrap cases. Works great. Plus its COMPLETELY waterproof
