is a perfect circle done? or is it just another project?
- seems like it's done.emukid
- it's his new project. From what I heard APC is pretty much done. But that is up to Maynard.morilla
- i would love to hang out with maynard and do soemthing completely generic like play the wii or something7point34
- he'd probably not talk to you and when he would, it would only to let you know how unintellectual you are compared to himemukid
- as long as you bring wine. I hear he he is very quite and protected when he hangs.morilla
- compared to him. he did the same to me.emukid
- it would just amuse me... i'm sure many people would love to jam with him or talk music... not me. just something average7point34

Yeah, a couple songs are pretty good. It's just weird to hear him take the frontman slot full time. I see him more as a harmonizer. But the music is good.

sorry emu, don't mean to hijack...
just remembered once i was on some web forum and discussing tool's music and some douche get's on and starts a thread saying tool's music and maynard's lyrics had changed his life. blah blah blah etc. then he said that he use dto believe in jesus and realized through tools music that this was a ridiculous notion. and asked if anyone else had changed their religious beliefs because of tool
i couldn't fucking believe it. so i responded. i was like first of all maynard's lyrics are of an agnostic stance. he saying you shouldn't believe something because everyone else does or because someone tells you 'that's the way it is.' maynard isn't trying to be your savior and if he read your story he'd probably laugh at you. he's not trying to convert anyone
- many tend to take maynard a bit too seriously. funny thing is that maynard doesn't seem to take himself half as seriously as fanboys do. he's a funny chap.emukid
- the fanboys do.emukid
- Maynard likes sweaty young menflashbender
- it was unreal... i was like come on dude, really? he's a singer... that's it7point34

I just got an e-mail announcing their summer tour, they must be counting on live shows to pay the bills from here on out.

One of my RSS Feeds just released that this album will be available free on Facebook. Supposedly they chose this because of something that happened off of the last album they gave for free over Bit Torrent?
Meh.... I don't know enough about NiN, I don't follow them, but they got some fun tactics. They might rival Radiohead.

You may not be able to tell, but I'm hugging you through the internet for this.

I am an orthodox Christian and I love both Tool and APC. Maynard's agnosticism and spiritual rabbit trails have only reinforced my own beliefs, as well as my belief that everyone receives a certain measure of common grace in terms of being able to create something that is (imho) profoundly beautiful. I would actually agree with Maynard that we shouldn't believe things merely because we're told too, even if I would disagree with his conclusions (or lack thereof). If only Maynard knew I was able to worship God through the beauty of Tool's music, in spite of the lyrics...he'd prolly crap himself.

I think he started realizing this through the ordeals his mother went through. I remember him saying how pissed off he was at her and the so called god that did that to her. All the while she still was deep in faith and never strayed. After she passed I think he saw things differently.
