Oh, you daft munter - what on Earth did you come over here for? I thought you had it sweet over there in NZ? Silly boy.
er.. no positive recommendations here - just DON'T go with Virgin ADSL.

yea i was asking myself the same thing a week back, slowly warming to the place. as it gets warmer

all the good ones are 'unlimited' transfer (with restrictive fine print of course).
I'm waiting for install of Tiscali phone/TV/broadband (these all-in-one are packages definitely the best value, from Sky, Virgin, or Tiscali (which used to be Homechoice). The one I'm getting includes free calls to Oz.
They all have rubbish customer service (I've called Tiscali like 30 ytimes and they can never find my order ref, dont know when install is, etc),. Same problem with Virgin Media, which is why I switched....
If you want speed, try Be bethere.co.uk but its just ADSL, no phone or TV.
I've also tried Bulldog (twice), also crappy customer service, although they recently tried to get me to pay £30 from a 3 year old contract, and on investigation I found they owed me £150, so that worked out well...
Zen is good..expensive, but good service and good if you want a set of dedicated IP addreses.
- i use bethere.co.uk, a good service for yeah, just broadband (£18 pm), which is fast (no problems playing PS3 online)Bluejam

The flat im moving into want to sign up for the sky package, but I wondered whether the broadband might be shitty slow and bugger-all bandwidth...

Do not go with virgin. customer service is disgraceful.
connection is intermittent and i dont know anyone who has had thier full connection speed.

having someone ink up one of yr designs is pretty cool, blackspade.
- thanks I get at last 1 person a week asking to have it tatooed, some that arent even kiwis which is a bit strange i thought but hey!blackspade

I think Sky is probably OK, they are competing directly with the VirginMedia, Tiscali and TalkTalk all-in-one packages...

The problem is that Virgin own all the cables so if you want a gooood connection they will be your best bet as there is no latency, etc....
- blackspade0
something made me think sky only had like 3gb monthly bandwidth, i could be wrong, need to find out exactly what they're looking at getting.
thanks for that Dancer, will def look into it! =)

For the love of all things shiny don't go with Virgin, for the reasons listed above plus Phorm... Bastards.
