what is the best way of testing your php scripts on a local machine?
i tried downloading webserv but it didn't work
anyone can help?

xamp might get you get up and running

1) Install apache webserver
2) install mySql DB (if you plan to do DB integration)
3) Install PHP
4) Setup the server and everything else
5) Done, you're ready to trow your php scripts in your wwwroot folder- Great if you know what you're doing. Terrible if you don't.********

I've been running xampp for ages, it's easy to install and has php, apache and mysql included.

You can run php on IIS if you have Windows XP Pro; I do that sice 8 years
