The fact that they paid sixteen grand for 5,000 color calendars certainly speaks to their amateur status. Laypeople should not do grpahic design, it's a dangerous business for the rubes...

I guess people are just fed up with art projects with social messages encapsulated. Not only it never solves anything, but they also end up in never becoming art objects because their purpose is limited and not universal. It's just a trendy thing to do that may have results in overcrowded places where eventually you'll find a few hundred thousand people willing to let a few coins go for the cause - but that surely won't work as a big revenue in the region of Salamanca, which is a rich, modern city but is still a relatively small and conservative city in the heart of one of the most less populated places in Spain.

Indeed - I personally agree it's a playful, funny, uncompromising thing to do, and with some uncommon beauty to it even - but the fact is their directly interested target market is not very numerous.
