so we have finally grown into the size of company that needs boring ass documents made in excel and powerpoint - but none of us have the time/patience/skilzzz to crank out 30 templates..
so..
is there a company that specialises in this stuff (ie if we give them rough brand guidelines?) or are there freelancers?
how did you guys do this?

I think you're overestimating the effort required here, tbh - especially with your company's relatively easy-going branding.

i'd love to do it all in pdf form using macros
but that is REAL effort + (i dont actually know how!)
nairn - yeah probably (its just a gay thing to appease the business partner - they want nice invoices, holiday forms, and purchase orders) - half of the stuff we just write on post its anyway..
(but i guess those days are over) :)
im thining of just getting a kid off uni that could do with a bit of cash (as long as i dont have to open MsOffice i'll be dandy)

i could just get ALL the people in QBN to send me their stationary and i'll scribble over the contact details and logo with a markerpen and then use the forms/letters etc for WorkClub.
that way no two docs will look the same - and we can keep looking gipo for longer :D

why not use Pages from Apple and use the far-and-away better templates it uses (from design perspective)?

it kind of does because the chumps we send this to (ie big multinational corps and stuff are much more likely to be working on PCs than macs :(

Sorry - to clarify - what exactly are you after, OEP?
Pre-made business doc templates with your branding on, so you can look all professional? Or are you doing something that requires data to stream through a macro for a mailout or something?
Actually, I don't know why I'm asking for clarification, it's not like I want to spend time faffing with Word or Power Point.

basically we have a 30 odd forms/letters/pres templates scribbled on paper
so we need to
design them properly into PPoint, Excel, Word templates
and we need to standardise them - (ie making sure the logo is used the same way, typefaces/sizes/colours are he same)
anything extra (ie making a 'wizard'-like step by step fill in, or using macros to aggregate data etc is extra (if someone can do it good! if not .. we'll settle for being able to arse around with MsOffice as their maing strength.)
so
Design Business Doc Templates from scratch for us ... (thats it)

it IS an overtime job..
but the design team here is already working till 11pm 5 days a week + half day weekends just to crank out the client work. that the wee spare time we have left is unlikely to be spent wrestling with Powerpoint..
we do have stationary made (for print)
but digital is Null ... we need things like.purchase orders
tissue meeting presentations
intial scamp pres
strategy pres
holiday forms
invoices
(standardising the look of wireframes docs)
letterhead .docs (for emails)etc
it IS donkey work (hence us looking to outsource it)
know some one?
