if you are using the online version, you can search the questions there and you will probably find the answer faster..
I just finished mine using it. It was an awful nightmare, next time I'm using taxcut, good luck!

stop stressing... file an extension... send a 'guesstimate' check - you can buy yourself 6 months no questions asked with a 4868: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f…
no penalties... overpay or underpay... try and be consistent w/your past tax payments - if you paid too much... get money back... if you didn't pay enough... amend the return w/out penalty and send the IRS what you still owe them.

damn man, the night of? i am a slacker, but c'mon.
sorry, this is not what you want to hear right now. i actually did turbotax online in 2006. after i finished everything, the damn thing kept telling me it could not submit because of some random bullshit error.
i ended up printing everything out, stuffing it all into an envelope, and sending it out. i was okay on the fed side (was getting a rebate) and i knew i owed a small amount to the california govt. so i sent the est. amount via check to them the same time i sent in my taxes...along with all other random tax related stuff.
i was pretty annoyed that it kept coming back with errors and that i actually had to send it in via mail.
but good luck at any rate.

i used taxslayer.com, myself (schedule c + federal + nj state). it's not a great ui - but, gets the job done. maybe i'll try turbotax next year.
you should definitely file an extension, as PonyBoy mentioned, above.

I put mine under utilities, and split the cost of everything,... cell phone, internet(s), hotel internet(s) access charges, ... it was all utilities, and I only took 50% of my monthly home charges. Everything outside my home, (i.e. hotels, cafes, etc.) I took 100%.
I also used taxcut (downloaded version).

In Turbotax, there is an option (I think it's under Deductions) to add a home office if you work out of your home. I think utilities is a subset of that.
The whole home office thing is a bit dodgy, it's really hard to determine exactly what they'd find acceptable.

meh, i never file on time. penalty is like 0.5% per month, which ends up being pocket change
