A specific font I am trying to use will only display the italic version and not the regular (even when I have regular selected).
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the font and Illustrator but am still getting the same problem.
Same problem exists in Photoshop.
This is in CS3 on a PC running XP.
Worked fine before up until today.
Works fine on another system.
Works fine in CS2 on the same system.Anyone happen to know a fix?!
Damn computers...make me want to smash them...smash them all to hell...

I have encountered similar problems on the mac.
I usually try closing all the programs (illy, ps) and deactivate the fonts the problematic fonts, plus a whole bunch of other fonts I might not be using at all. I then quit linotype (in my case) and open it again and activate the fonts I need once again.
The more activated fonts I have the more problems I'll have with Illy or Photoshop.

Are you using any font management software or just straight into your system?
If you aren't using any I would highly recommend http://www.linotype.com/fontexpl…
It does a great job of allowing you to activate and deactivate your fonts, as well organize them. Sometimes this can help.
Also, is the font truetype, postscript, or opentype?

Revert to a snapshot from before when the font problem began with "system recovery" in XP
