  Are you using any font management software or just straight into your system?

  If you aren't using any I would highly recommend http://www.linotype.com/fontexpl…

  It does a great job of allowing you to activate and deactivate your fonts, as well organize them. Sometimes this can help.

  Also, is the font truetype, postscript, or opentype?
