my sister's wedding is coming up and guess who's in charge of designing the invites (:D)
i want to print the invite on a tied bow to emphasize tying the knot so to speak but i'm not sure how i would get the design onto the material.
any ideas?

Depends on the fabric I think. It might sound bad, but how about getting a rubber stamp/s made up? If it is a silk-like fabric, it might really run, but something a bit heavier and less-shiny might just hold the ink nicely. Sorry if this makes no sense – I am really tired and working to a dickhead-initiated deadline.

oh no a d.i.d. ! let us know if you need some help.
i believe i can get it printed professionally but i'm not sure how to approach it. (screenprint, offset, digital maybe?)
- Well, if you’ve got the budget, screenprint it like MindFuse said...MrOneHundred
- ...and as for the d.i.d., I just need to focus on the job and let go of the anger. As if.MrOneHundred
- i hope they pay you overtime!_salisae_
- Sadly, no. But there are other benefits, which don’t spring to mind right now.MrOneHundred
- :/ i guess we all take the hit every now and then_salisae_
- That’s a nice way of saying it, but yes.MrOneHundred

i think it will kind of be my present since i haven't got a lot of money right now. i wish i could expand it and print bows for the guests to tag on their tops but hmm maybe that's gay.
i figure i'll just adhere it to a nice thick card stock and put it in an envelope like a buckslip. kind of cutesie!

fly me and seff out as consultants. we'll get them printed one way or a nother.

it'll have to be kinda flat to mail... giving you less you less surface area to print on? I might rethink this whole idea... sounds a little... cutesie?

if it's a small quantity, like a couple hundred or less, screenprinting is a good option because it's affordable, if you limit your colors to like 1 or 2 and you can print on all types of materials (paper, fabric, tyvek). Digital is going to limit the material you can print on. How will you mail these tied ribbons? Are there other components?

Probably old news, but these guys do some nice invites using some nice techniques. (That’s two nices too many!)

possibly look into some garment trim manufacturers.. not sure if you've got a specific ribbon in mind, but they do stuff like printed binding tapes common in shirt collars etc. there will be relatively large minimums for a sample order but being a wedding the quantity may be ok.
