- the operating system is windows, so besides cosmetic, what could be different?Meeklo
- components, ram speeds, peripherals, built in wireless. Is a MBP the same as an iBook?flashbender
- I know that, but if it comes to speed, why would it matter the brand if their specs are the same?Meeklo
- ergonomic design, how it feels, quiteness, texture, convenience features, trackpad design, key design, etcribit

Go price a PC 17" with the exact same specs as an Apple 17" and they're going to be pretty much priced the same, possibly a bit more for the PC.

If you really can't get a Mac... do some research and find a brand that comes with either minimal crapware preinstalled, or at least a plain old Windows CD... NOT just a system restore disk.
The crap installed on a brand new system is incredibly annoying, and responsible for tons of slowdowns, crashes, and conflicts and is 99% unneccesary.

seriously, go with a mac.
If they say it is too expensive, tell them it is the same as a PC with similar components. USe this as an example
http://www.dell.com/content/prod…- Exactly, I can't believe people still by into the "Mac's are more expensive" bullshit.********
- I priced my MBP out vs a dell and I think the dell was $200 cheaper, but it was on sale.flashbender
- They are generally cheaper if you're looking at the base models. You can get more RAM, HD space for the price.Jaline

it really comes down to what OS do you feel comfortable with?
they both have problems
macs cater more to the designer demographic and a lot of their products are to specs for running RAM and graphic intensive programs.

If you get a mac i'll send you free ram since i have 2gb i'm not really using :]

Stop going on about Macs when he specifically asked you not to. You CAN find decent PCs out there.
