Turbo Tax

If someone buys and uses the Turbo Tax program (on CD) to prep their taxes, can it then be used by someone else or is it a 'one-time use' sort of program? (ie. is there some sort of authentication etc.)

I need more than just the basic free version and it's cheaper if I buy on eBay. Maybe I'm missing something more obvious?

I did my taxes via software this year for the first time, fucking easy can't believe I was paying some guy to do it in the past. Had my return in less than 2 weeks. Good times.

i think there is a fee to upload your taxes to irs on top of the sw. you buy the software, and how ever many people want to can use it, but they each have to pay to submit the taxes.
personally i think a good tax accountant is well worth the money. they know all the ins and outs and can get you a lot more money then some software which is trying to be as safe as possible.

just a fair warning on Turbo Tax. I've used it for several years with no problems. However I also did my wife's taxes (unmarried at the time) a couple times. Did them the same way. Now we have a couple notices from IRS about discrepencies. Can't figure out why. So be careful.
