i think there is a fee to upload your taxes to irs on top of the sw. you buy the software, and how ever many people want to can use it, but they each have to pay to submit the taxes.
personally i think a good tax accountant is well worth the money. they know all the ins and outs and can get you a lot more money then some software which is trying to be as safe as possible.
