For me, the perfect economic meltdown is a basic tinned tuna and cheddar cheese on white sliced. For something a bit more decadent I go for a ciabatta, line caught tuna steak, a swiss breakfast cheese, sliced olives and caramelised red onion with chopped parsley.
- Well you gotta go with a good piece of ciabnatta...TheBlueOne

I can't buy into the economic conspiracy stuff. Conspiracies require a plan.

it's curious that the morgan family profitted enormously from the great depression, and who steps in once again? hey, it's morgan!
- most any savvy investor profits from a downturn in the market. Buy the goods while they are cheap.skelly_b

die america die, embrace your republican capitalist ethos you fought for all this time; everyone fights for himself - and the result is as follows...
darwinism of ant colonies- Ants = totalitarian subjects which have remained essentially static for millions of years.detritus
- Look how far capitalism has pushed humanity in mere hundreds... or, worst case, thousands, of years.detritus
- Greed = Efficient evolutionary mechanic, whether you like it or not.detritus
- I mixed my points up there, but you get the gist, I hope.detritus
- greed is primitive, with the increasing wealth for everyone in the future, greed will loose its meaning completelydrgs
- most progressive countries in the world, netherlands, scandinavia, esp finland, have self-overcome capitalism years agodrgs
- I'm not saying it's The Ideal, just that it's the most efficient medium-term currency for advancement.detritus
- And ultimately, Nordic countries are still Capitalist in nature.detritus
- yes, but have moved furtherst towards socialismdrgs

I've said this several times over the past few years...We'll face a depression. The Bush Administration saw it coming. Their solution is to skip the depression part and go straight to the war part so as to quicken the recovery.
