I don't really think those things affect productivity negatively. The philosophy here has always been 'work hard, play hard'. When you are coding all day for instance taking a break to play ping pong is more stimulating than a lot of break time activities. No one abuses it but it is there when you need a break.

i wouldnt trade the size of my company (40 people) for 60 more and a burgerking playpen atmosphere.

loved the free food and cafeteria....that looked like a pretty good idea to me...breakfast, lunch and dinner?...niiiice....would definitely make a deep cut in your weekly grocery expenses, thats for sure...

ha! millions of quid = paying for spaced out architects and interior designers.
i could have put a slide in their office, for much less than the 'inspirational' idiots behind that playground.
- but it is pretty cool. i mean, that or plain walls and instant coffee, i know what i'd choose.Raniator

I'm sure you guys would choose your current areas of work over the Google office...
- yes. unlike (most of) the married me, us single guys like to go home.robotron3k

We have XBox, Wii, Guitar Hero, Flat Screen TVs, pool table, ping pong, darts, a fitness center, showers, cheap healthy food, fun events, wear whatever, bring dogs to work and have paintings of a purple monster on all the walls.
It was a small startup called MonsterCommerce that was bought by NetSol. Not much has changed here in terms of culture. Although I'm told it isn't quite the same as the early days when there were only 20 people here. The average age here is probably 20-something and it is a fun, collaborative place to work. NetSol seems to appreciate the energetic, creative environment.
- I remember reading abot this place in tat rag, the STL Biz Journal. Didn't realize anyone actually worked there...duckofrubber
- Wow. Lots of typos. OK:
abot = about
tat = thatduckofrubber

we have a huge boxing bag , pinball and arcade machines, kitchen/living room with a big sofa, tv and playstation, gameboy and playboy in the washrooms etc.
not on Googles level which I personally think is too much, but just enough to give a good and relaxed environment.
