tried it on my mates pc, it pops up saying , its unknown, and is malfunctioned. well fuckin great!

don't fret - there's a lot that can be done with a bad disk, the fact that it is recognizing is actually good.
Run Disk utility and if that doesn't help give disk warrior a shot.
