No, surely not Horton. There's no need for an "ra" ligature. No... no no no... NO! It would look bad.

tim's mother was beaten to death in 1987 by an "ra" ligature. it's a bad BAD ligature

I'm climbing inside my own urethra now until the bad thoughts go away.

it's all true.

k - oops - maybe not a ligature but if anyone can recall a nice tightly kerned and well executed "ra" in a logo, please let me know.

It could work, depending on the font and the execution. If it's a logo, just redraw the leg of the R to flow into the base of the A. If it's a headline...not worth your time. Just open up the letterspacing in general and use optical spacing.

- I think that works.brains
- Yeah looks good to me Horton.Spookyhome
- the more I look at it, the smoother it looks. did you just muck with the a?brains
- no just straightened out the arm on the r and chopped it short so i can pull the a in tighterhorton
- .. still wish i could get the a in closer but i that's as far as she'll gohorton
- r+a work... though I wonder whether the d needs amending now, to fit in with your change?detritus

- dunno - i was half kidding - though there is something there in the d's curves that jars.. but only just a wee bit, ignore me.detritus
