A tv show ABOUT web design. KABOOM! that's the sound of your mind being blown.

I don't watch long or important videos on YouTube because the quality sucks.
I use torrents more than I watch an actual TV set.

the days of plunking down in front of the boobtube and flicking through the internet are not far away

I have forsaken both and now spend most of my days listening to the world at large through a big paper funnel, just to catch what might go by

Yes, having the Internet on TV would be better, but the TV has to be large enough that you could read the text from far away (you should also be able to magnify the text, but that's extra work). That way, when you recognize an actor from a show, just pause the show, go to the Internet, look them up at IMDb, go, "aha!", and then go back to watching the show (and you may have some more sense of satisfaction now). I'm weird like that.
First world problems.

Of course, you could look up people while on a laptop in front of the TV (so that you don't break the momentum of the film), but then you would have two devices instead of a merger.

I think people will always choose to watch and listen to something, rather than read text on a site or in a book. I foresee the integration of mograph with websites, watched on a television type device.

how would you ad mograph on websites if Flash died.
Haven't you heard botbot's theory?

I think mograph, flash, video will all go away and be replaced by puppeteers and modelers. So buying a computer also means hiring a staff of 5 to act out the internet and show your typing on the screen, which will be an empty box with a curtain. Behind which will chairs and snacks for the staff.
The future looks bright.- Sweet! Just as long as there's no mime's... I hate mime's...IRNlun6

What do you except, you still have freezes and glitchces and poor quality when watching video over the web. Plus more people can afford LCD tv's.....
Web design isn't dyeing, its web design with motion.

It will all soon converge so much that you wont talk about the internet or TV anymore.. you will just have lots of displays around you, small/portable, flexible, fixed/large whatever, all talking to each other seamlessly and all possible services running on any of them, fully interactive, or fully programmed for when you don't want to think...
