I am trying to read some values from an XML file in Flash. Everything is cool until I try to compare the values, which I've read into an array. For some reason Flash can't see that they match even though they are both the same.
What is going on here? Does it have to do with converting the values to a string? I was trying the following:
var myValue=new String (my_arr[0]);
Thought that would do the trick, apparently not.

depends if the xml is a node or not.
if its an attribute then its a string automatically otherwise you need to read the value of the node with nodeValuei.e. firstChild.firstChild.nodeValue returns value of node
firstChild.firstChild. returns xmlNode but both look the same
