haha, yeah, pretty much
I just made this: runs of a single xml doc, supports flags for allowing the tracks to be downloadadble or not.

I'll email this to you as well, just for fun.

flashbender - are any of the tracks on the sample protected from download?
- flashbender0
not sure what you mean by protected from download.
The websamples.zip is like half the songs - the ones the artists wanted to allow download for.
The way I have the individual songs set up is there is an "allowDL" flag in the xml if it is true then the download button shows up, if it is false, then you can't download that track.
I suppose if you tried really hard you could get a decompiler and find the url of the XML doc and use that to find the URL of the mp3s.
Does that answer your question?

actually flashbender there is no way to keep people from downloading a streaming file. Even in your players case there is no need to decompile to find the url for the xml or the mp3. just look at activity in safari and double click it will open the mp3 file. The only thing you can do is make it more difficult to find the file. or put it in a format not easily played back. I like to stream music as flv files so they can only be played back in a flash player. also that doesnt even cover recording from your sound card like audio hijack and other programs like it.
- right. but that is why you only place >128bit tracks to be played via stream or anything else online.lvl_13
- the point is to get them interested in the tracks. you can always set up a cart elsewhere with the full bit version...or not.lvl_13
- or in doomtree's case. it's all about the music...and their love for the music. they produce. but i am biased :Dlvl_13
