Anybody with any experience, is it easy to get a good result quickly with little experience? I need some guy walking around in my flash movie clip

a guy in my office has been messing with it (green screen) - lighting can be tricky, but his results have been fair, right out of the box. Plan your subject's clothing a little, the idea is to contrast with the screen so it can be easily extracted.

You sort of have to light twice, in a way. Light your screen for as much of an even flat color as possible. And then light your subject while trying to avoid bouncing the light onto the matte.

ok thanks, would doing it outside help much when its a bit cloudy to so theres no shadows hitting the screen?
- possibly. there's a little trial and error. as even as you can make it.harlequino

I work as an editor and frequently have to key out from blue, green etc. etc. and can tell you right now, do not do it cheaply do not cut corners, lighting is absolutely........ key here, make sure your subject casts no shadows and make sure th ecolor you are keying is flat and solid and very very saturated :D if you get theseright then you are having a dream. All too often I have recieved poorly lit and badly arranged footage Good luck and be patient.

distance between the light and screen! 6feet at least from the bluescreen and good lighting...
but who cares... the art department can fix anything!

Another thing if you have movement a recent case of mine for example
I had to film a signer (person that does the sign language for deaf people) against a green screen, I had to key them out and pop them on the botttom right of picture, now this is easy however there was lots of movement and the fingers are very important, so I turned the shutter speed right up on the camera this gives a better crisper edge to pictures involving movement, don't forget this when filming as you'll get a horrible smeary blur :'(.
